Cheryl and Alan Higham and their yellow lab Ben created Weathered Stone Textiles not to follow industry norms, but rather to innovate and produce towels in their own way. They both wanted to be away from centers of industry and in a place whose lifestyle and community fit them. Together, Cheryl and Alan chose Boulder, Colorado as the headquarters of their business.

Boulder is a Rocky Mountain college town filled with clean air, the best trail running and rock climbing in the world, incredible views, and over 300 days of sunshine a year. It was the perfect fit.

For the production of Weathered Stone Textiles products, Cheryl and Alan chose Turkey, the birthplace of terry toweling and a country passionate about the creation of towels. As Weathered Stone Textiles has continued to grow, they have remained committed to the country of Turkey and their Turkish textile plants. Cheryl and Alan frequently travel to Turkey to oversee the management of their Turkish operations.
